Alexandria Peary served as New Hampshire Poet Laureate from 2019 to 2024. Named "Most Inspiring Artist" by New Hampshire Magazine, she has given talks on mindful writing in regional, national, and international venues, including a multi-year webinar for the National Council of Teachers of English and a 2019 TEDx talk, "How Mindfulness Can Transform the Way You Write." For her innovative civic work, she received a 2020 Academy of American Poets Laureate Fellowship. Her books include Prolific Moment: Theory and Practice of Mindfulness for Writing, and she teaches mindful writing at the undergraduate and graduate levels at Salem State University.
