They’re also twice as likely as the average American adult to engage in this practice.
It makes sense for entrepreneurs to meditate, says Grainne McKeown, owner of Mindful Medicine Worldwide. “Meditation is to the mind what physical exercise is to the body,” she says. “It trains one to take control of thoughts, quelling fear and freeing the mind from ruminating on negative thoughts—essential qualities for a business owner.”
As for why more women seem to be making this connection, McKeown suggests it has to do with the hugely multi-faceted lives female entrepreneurs lead. A meditation practice, she maintains, not only helps cope with stressful aspects of running a business, but also make space for women to enjoy other parts of their lives, such as being wives or mothers.
