Top Performers Discuss Finding Mastery in New Podcast

What practices do the world's best use to become their very best? Sports psychologist Michael Gervais discusses the path to mastery, including the role of mindfulness, with elite performers in his new podcast series.

Violinist Kai Knight was featured on "Finding Mastery" in August.

Michael Gervais is a sports psychologist who is best known for his work with NFL Coach Pete Carroll, head coach of the Super Bowl Champion Seattle Seahawks. In his new podcast series, “Finding Mastery,” Gervais speaks with elite performers about developing mastery as well as how each individual brings mindfulness to what they do.

“I’ve been in the trenches for a long time with people who are really good at what they do,” Gervais says in the introductory podcast for the show. But it’s not often that conversations take place around how the path to greatness gets carved. Gervais says each episode covers the guest’s life path, their framework for understanding how the world works, and the mental skills they’ve developed in the pursuit of mastery.

“I’ve been in the trenches for a long time with people who are really good at what they do.”

Gervais most recently interviewed Thomas William “Tom” Osborne, a former American football player, coach, college athletics administrator, and politician from Nebraska about his life, purpose, and commitment to family and mentoring. Listen to the podcast.
