When some savvy software developers at the National Peanut Board developed the “Peanuts: Energy for the Good Life” iPhone app, they decided to augment food preparation suggestions with a five-minute mindfulness exercise. The free app encourages you to take healthy breaks in your day for activities like snacking on peanuts, making peanut shrimp chowder or peanut pumpkin muffins—and meditating. Stephan Bodian, author of Meditation for Dummies, created the mindfulness exercise.
